Ethicists and Economists for Ethical Donation-Compensation Practices

DonationEthics.com develops and houses open letters by ethicists and economists who support ethical donation-compensation practices. The letters target governments and other groups that seek to make compensation for donation illegal in cases where the signatories believe the ethical case for donation-compensation outweighs the ethical concerns that have been raised against it.

In part thanks to our first letter, the HHS withdrew a proposal that would have made it illegal to compensate bone marrow stem cell donors.

In part thanks to our second and third letters, a Canadian Senate Committee on Social Affairs, Science and Technology recommended that the Senate drop Bill S-252, which would have made compensation for plasma donation illegal in Canada.

DonationEthics.com was founded by myself and Peter M. Jaworski in 2016.
